Seahaven

Once a small fishing hamlet that was miraculously spared from the Great Cataclysm, with the advent of new seagoing technologies, Seahaven has evolved into a thriving port city - with its business district centered around a bustling harbor, and residences extending out in a semicircle around it. For protection, the town is protected by a barrier constructed by mages, who wrapped the might of the ocean around the town in a permanent and stationary tidal wave of water, enough to stave off the advances of most creatures, and controllable enough that a particular section can instantaneously disperse into a fog of water vapor and allow entrance along the main road into the town. The town is home to most of the area's sailors, and has many businesses that cater to travelers and crews on layover. As a result, Seahaven was the ideal spot for the growth of a black market, and all manner of curiosities from throughout the lands of Lore usually wash up in a wheeled vendor's stall in one of Seahaven's many back alleys. The Guild has a strong but unobtrusive presence here, and interestingly enough, the Order is only present in the occasional street patrol. Some, of course, attribute this to the Guild wanting as little oversight as possible for its caravans of technological "artifacts" that pass through the town on a regular basis...
